Sydney Sweeney

Sydney Sweeney is an American actress and producer. Born in Spokane, Washington, she began her career after working briefly at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2016. Sweeney rose to prominence for her role in the teen drama series Euphoria and has appeared in notable films such as Quentin Tarantino’s Once upon a Time…in Hollywood and the romantic comedy Anyone but You.

Early life

Sweeney was born on September 12, 1997, in Spokane, Washington. Her father, Steven Sweeney, works in the medical field, and her mother, Lisa Mudd Sweeney, is a former criminal defense lawyer. She has a younger brother named Trent Sweeney who is an aspiring actor.

Career

Sweeney worked at Universal Studios Hollywood for a short period in 2016 before getting hired for an acting job. Her early television roles included Emaline Addario in the Netflix series Everything Sucks! (2018) and a performance in the dystopian series The Handmaid’s Tale (2018). She starred in Quentin Tarantino’s film Once upon a Time…in Hollywood (2019). Sweeney rose to prominence for her role in the teen drama series Euphoria (2019–26). She appeared in the first season of The White Lotus in 2021. She starred in the romantic comedy Anyone but You. Sweeney appeared in the psychological thriller The Housemaid (2025).
