Lupita Nyong'o

Lupita Amondi Nyong'o is a Kenyan-Mexican actress. She began her career in Hollywood as a production assistant before gaining recognition for her role as Patsey in the film 12 Years a Slave. She is also known for her portrayal of Nakia in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and for starring on Broadway in the play Eclipsed. Her performances have earned her an Academy Award, an Actor Award, and a Daytime Emmy.

Nyong'o was born on March 1, 1983, in Mexico City, Mexico. Her parents are Dorothy and politician Peter Anyang' Nyong'o. She has siblings named Fiona Nyong'o, Esperanza Nyong'o, Zawadi Nyong'o, and Peter Junior Nyong'o.

Career

Nyong'o started her professional life as a production assistant in Hollywood. She later starred on Broadway in the play Eclipsed. She achieved significant acclaim for her role as Patsey in 12 Years a Slave and subsequently joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Nakia.
