Vin Diesel

Mark Sinclair, known professionally as Vin Diesel, is an American actor, producer, director, and screenwriter. Born on July 18, 1967, in Alameda County, California, he was raised by his adoptive father, Irving H. Vincent, who worked as an acting instructor and theatre manager, while his mother, Delora Sherleen Sinclair, was an astrologer and psychologist. Diesel attended Hunter College in New York City to study creative writing before dropping out to pursue an acting career, which included working as a club bouncer during his teenage years. His film career began with an uncredited role in the 1990 film Awakenings, and he later gained significant recognition after Steven Spielberg cast him in Saving Private Ryan (1998) following a viewing of his semi-autobiographical short film Multi-Facial.

Career

Diesel's film career began with an uncredited role in the 1990 film Awakenings. He is best known for playing Dominic Toretto in the Fast & Furious franchise. Additionally, he voices the character Groot in the Guardians of the Galaxy films and stars as Richard B. Riddick in The Chronicles of Riddick franchise.
