Alessandra Ambrosio

Alessandra Corine Ambrósio is a Brazilian model and actress. Born in Erechim, Rio Grande do Sul, she began her career after participating in Brazil's 'Elite Model Look' competition in 1996. She rose to prominence as a Victoria's Secret angel and was the first spokesmodel for the brand's PINK line. Her notable works include appearances in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show starting in 2001 and the film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.

Early life

Ambrósio was born on April 11, 1981, to parents who owned a petrol station. She has Italian, Polish, and Portuguese ancestry. At the age of 12, she took up local modeling classes.

Career

Ambrósio began her modeling career in 1996 following her participation in the 'Elite Model Look' competition. She made her first appearance in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in 2001. She was chosen as the first spokesmodel for Victoria's Secret's PINK line and rose to prominence after being named a Victoria's Secret angel. In addition to her modeling work, she appeared in the film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.
