Nicolas Cage

Nicolas Cage is an American actor and film producer. Born Nicolas Kim Coppola, he adopted his stage name early in his career to establish his own reputation separate from his family's legacy. He is recognized for his versatile performances across various genres, winning the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in Leaving Las Vegas (1995). His notable works include Raising Arizona, The Rock, Face/Off, Adaptation, and the National Treasure series.

Early life

Cage was born on January 7, 1964, in Long Beach, California. He is of Italian descent from his father, August Coppola, a comparative literature professor, and Polish and German descent from his mother, Joy Vogelsang, a dancer and choreographer. His uncle is director Francis Ford Coppola.

Career

Cage has received numerous accolades throughout his career, including an Academy Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and a Golden Globe Award. He was nominated for two BAFTA Awards during his tenure in the industry. In 2024, he received another nomination for a Golden Globe Award.
