Robert De Niro

Robert Anthony De Niro is an American actor, director, film producer, and restaurateur. Born in Manhattan, New York City, he trained at the Stella Adler Conservatory and the American Workshop before establishing a career recognized for intense performances in films such as Taxi Driver (1976) and Raging Bull (1980). He has received two Academy Awards, including his first win for Best Supporting Actor for The Godfather Part II, and earned a 2024 Oscar nomination for his role in Killers of the Flower Moon.

Early life

De Niro was born on August 17, 1943, to Robert Henry De Niro Sr., an American painter, and Virginia Admiral, who was an artist. He is of Italian, Irish, English, Dutch, German, and French ancestry.

Career

De Niro won his first Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for The Godfather Part II. He has received two Academy Awards and one Golden Globe Award throughout his career. In 2024, he earned an Oscar nomination for his role in Killers of the Flower Moon.
