Jennifer Connelly

Jennifer Lynn Connelly is an American actress. She began her career as a child model and made her acting debut in 1984. Connelly is recognized for winning an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as the wife of mathematician John Forbes Nash in A Beautiful Mind. Recent notable works include her appearance in the 2024 film Bad Behaviour.

Early life

Connelly was born on December 12, 1970, in the Catskill Mountains, New York. Her parents are Ilene (Schuman), an antique dealer, and Gerard Connelly, a clothing manufacturer. Her father had Irish and Norwegian ancestry, while her mother was from a Jewish immigrant family. She grew up in Brooklyn Heights, New York.

Career

Connelly appeared in the horror thriller Phenomena in 1985. She later won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in A Beautiful Mind. In 2024, she appeared in the film Bad Behaviour, which was directed by Alice Englert.

Connelly is married to actor Paul Bettany.
