Sandra Hüller

Sandra Hüller is a German actress. She studied acting at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin and gained international recognition for her starring role in Maren Ade's Toni Erdmann. Her career includes award-winning performances in films such as Requiem, Anatomy of a Fall, and The Zone of Interest. In 2024, she was named best actress by the National Society of Film Critics for her work in the latter two films.

Early life

Hüller was born on 30 April 1978 in Suhl. She studied acting at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin.

Career

Hüller won the Silver Bear for Best Actress for her performance as Anneliese Michel in the drama Requiem. She is internationally known for her starring role in Maren Ade's Toni Erdmann, for which she received an Academy Award nomination and two BAFTA Awards nominations. She later won a César Award for her role in Anatomy of a Fall and was named best actress by the National Society of Film Critics in 2024 for her roles in that film and The Zone of Interest. Throughout her career, she has won two European Film Awards and three German Film Awards. Hüller is also a theater actress and lecturer.
